My Flag

Glad you asked. Every flag has a personality and every one of our American flags has a unique registration number. (You'll find it on the dog tag.)

It's easy, go register your flag.

Absolutely! Remove the dog tag before flying. Head over to registerflag and enter your unique #. Then use your dog tag as a key chain, or dog tag.

Yes! Washing your flag is good flag maintenance and shows pride of ownership. You'll get several benefits. Your flag will look more vibrant, fly higher, and last longer. Kinda like you, if you wash regularly. Here is our complete guide to flag care.

Yes, definitely. In our perfect world, our flags would be rolled so they don't have creases from folds. Still working on that one.

It helps to know your flag's material, but ironing with care will make your flag relax and fly with pride.

This is one of the most frequently asked questions for good reason.

Outdoor flags serve on the front line, in harm's way. Government agencies only expect an outdoor flag (outside 24/7) to last 90 days. That's just too short.

Conditions vary but we expect our flags to last much longer. As a matter of fact, some of our flags have served for years.

That's why we do our best to teach flag care and maintenance. But there is no perfect answer because each flag's life is unique. Registering your flag is the first step in protecting it for life.

When it comes time to retire your American flag, the preferred method stated in the US Flag code is to burn the flag. But most flags these days are made of nylon or polyester. So, it may not be safe or legal ( check local laws) to burn your flag. Don't worry there are alternatives. We cover the best ones here.(Coming Soon.)

Yes! The American flag is a living symbol and End of Watch is a sad time. That's why we ask you to register your flag on purchase. We'll help you care for the flag through service, determine when retirement is the best choice, and make replacement as easy as possible.
